11 Quick Cards Part 3

Check out the next 3 projects in my 11 Quick Cards Part 3 blog post. In this series of posts, I’m sharing projects made with “card salad”.

If you’ve been following along you know that all 11 projects feature the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and the Natures Roots Dies which are retiring from the 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalog! If you didn’t read my last post you may be wondering what “card salad” is. Well, it’s pretty simple! After each creative cardmaking session, I am usually left with a bunch of pieces and parts and/or some focal pieces that I didn’t end up using. I put these leftover pieces into a baggie for future use. I have a lot of these baggies!!! In preparation for my “Card Salad” Party I grabbed a bunch of my baggies with pieces made using items that are retiring from the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. I used 4 of these card salad baggies to make my 11 quick cards!

All 11 quick cards shown in the photo below were made with the 4 card salad baggies in the middle. These particular baggies contained mostly focal pieces, which is not always the case.

Now in today’s 11 Quick Cards Part 3 post, I’m going to focus on three of my 11 quick cards.

This card salad baggie I used for these contained only the die-cut colored Evergreen Trees that you see on these cards. These Evergreen Trees were all created using Stampin’ Up! Pigment Sprinkles. Pigment Sprinkles are similar to Brusho Crystals with the main difference being that Pigment Sprinkles came in Stampin’ Up! colors. Sadly, the Pigment Sprinkles retired last year. There are other ways to add multiple colors to a stamp but that’s a topic for another day! Later in this post, I’ll provide a link to a post where you can learn more about stamping with Pigment Sprinkles.

Below is the set of simple mini gift enclosure cards I initially made and shared in my Facebook Live but after the Live, I had another fun idea that I wanted to share!

Why not show how to use this simple design and remake it in larger size cards.

This mini gift enclosure card measures 2-½” x 4-½”. Stampin’ Up! used to sell these and they came with these cute little envelopes too. While Stampin’ Up! doesn’t sell this size card anymore it’s super easy to make your own. You’d just start with a piece of white cardstock that measures 4-1/2″ x 5″ and fold it in half to create the 2-½” x 4-½” folded card base.

This small size worked perfectly with my die-cut card salad trees for some quick and easy cards!

All I did was dry emboss a layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock, attach it to the minicard, stamp a sentiment and attach all my pieces. The die-cut tree is popped up on dimensionals!

For this next version, I’ve taken my focal element and added it to a Stampin’ Up! note card.

This notecard measures 3-½” x 5″ and is a current item that is available to purchase from Stampin’ Up!. I’ve adapted my design slightly by adding a layer of Pool Party cardstock and some Pool Party ribbon along the spine. I love that with these few simple changes I’ve made this cute alternative version of my card. I chose Pool Party for my coordinating color because on this particular tree some of the lighter tones in the tree looked a lot like Pool Party.

For this last version, I’ve remade my design into a standard A2 size card.

My card base is a piece of Thick Basic White Cardstock that measures 4-¼” x 11″. It’s folded in half to get a standard A2 size card body that measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded. I’ve adapted my design yet again by adding a larger layer of Pool Party cardstock and some Pool Party ribbon around the middle. This tree also had some of the Pool Party hues in it.

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about how my original mini-card was adapted to make three different card sizes using the same focal element!
