Check out 3 of my favorite card layouts that use designer series paper! Two of them even include a fun fold!
In this post, you’ll see 8 card variations in 3 Stampin’ Up! designer series papers. I’ve used three of the designer papers that are on sale this month through the buy 3 get one free sale. I especially love designer series paper because it makes project design so easy, especially when you can use favorite card layouts that produce awesome cards every time!
This first set of three cards is made with a card layout I’ve used a few times before. It was inspired by a swap card I got several years back, and I just love to come back to this one!
I’ve used the Follow Your Art designer series paper. All 12 patterns, in this paper pack, are shown on these three cards.

Can you spot the 6 different patterns shown on this card layout?
You may also see that the folded triangle-shaped pieces are raised up a bit. I did use a Mini-Stampin’ Dimensional near the point of these triangles to attach them to the card. It’s important that you put them at the point. If you put it near the fold you’ll lose a bit of the sharp crease at the fold line. 🙂

Version #2 of this card brings in 2 more of the patterns in the designer series paper pack.
I’ve used Coastal Cabana cardstock to back the sentiment piece here. On the previous card, Bermuda Bay was used instead. The sentiment piece is also raised up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This third card shows the remaining four patterns of designer series paper.
One of the reasons I love this card layout is that it showcases several of the designer series paper patterns in a given paper pack on just one card! It’s a great way to show off almost any designer paper.

The sentiment used on these cards comes from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set shown below.

In case you’d like to make this fun fold card layout, I’ve included a graphic tutorial here:

Are you ready for the second, of my three, card layouts?
This one is also a fun fold and it’s even easier than the first one! This design shows the front and back of a single piece of designer series paper. Some papers lend themselves better to this than others. The See A Silhouette designer paper works beautifully for this card layout because for each of these papers, one side is bold, and the other is simpler, and includes similar colors.

The backsides of each of these papers, look very much like what pigment sprinkles look like when used as a background.
They are all simply beautiful! The version here uses Pacific Point cardstock for the card base. The sentiment and back for each of the first three cards are made with Crushed Curry ink and cardstock.

This next version uses Mossy Meadow cardstock for the card base.

The sentiment piece and designer paper flaps are both raised up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for all these cards.

For this next one, I used Real Red cardstock for the card base.

I just love all the unique patterns in this designer series paper pack!

Last but not least, here is the card I assembled in my video tutorial and Facebook Live.

The card base and sentiment backing are made with Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in the same ink.

Can’t forget the inside!
I’ve used a 3/4″ strip of coordinating designer paper to add a little color to the inside. Fun right?

I have used this card layout on a number of occasions including for a Stamp-A-Stack a few years back!
When making multiples of this card I like to use a template to make the process go more quickly. Stamp-a-Stack class participants used this handy tool so wanted to also share it here. I’ve included dimensions so you can create your own template as you wish!

The big “Happy Birthday” sentiment also comes from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set.
The stamp comes with the “Happy” next to the “Birthday”, not one on top of the other. I did not cut my stamp although you could. Watch my video tutorial ahead to find out how I did it if it’s not obvious! 🙂

Now for the third, of my three, card layouts!
Now this one does not have a fun fold but it does showcase 11 out of the 12 patterns in this designer series paper pack! I love that!

Now if you watch the video ahead you’ll see that I attempted to finish this design live on camera.
That proved to be a bit difficult. So… I finished the design off-camera and I’m super happy with the end result! I hope you like it too! Here’s a close-up so you may be able to appreciate some of the finer details.
Can you see the touch of gold shimmer on the Rococo Rose ribbon under the Lace Trim? I brought this ribbon into the design, to tie in with the touches of yellows in the designer series paper.

After I introduced that bit of gold shimmer, I started playing with the Flourish Dies in the gold glimmer paper.
I just love these elegant accents and the addition of the gold! What do you think? If you watched the video and saw the other things I was playing with maybe you’d like to weigh in? How did I do?
Did I make the right choice? Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. I’d so appreciate it!

Here’s the complete set of projects in these 3 card layouts!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these projects and will check out my video tutorial ahead.

Thank you Carol Anne!
Melissa I loved all 3 card designs. I especially liked the one with the 12 squares and I liked that you just went with the gold flourish pieces. On the sentiment what if you used petal pink backed with the gold glitter? I will definitely use all 3 designs. Thank you for inspiring us all the time!
Thanks so much Barbara! The 12 panel one is definitely the most unique and special to me. In the end, I decided that the sentiment just wasn’t adding enough to bother figuring out other options as I did play with it for a while but thanks for the suggestion. I love how the gold elements turned out. They sort of carry the design! Thanks for taking the time for commenting and joining in on the FB Live! Have an awesome day Barbara!
