3D Projects with Snowman Season and In The Pines Sets

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing two 3d projects with the Snowman Season and In The Pines sets plus a few other products too. These projects are easy to make and offer a fun simple idea for Christmas decor or a little gift during the holidays. They each hold a small led light to mimic the look of a tea light candle.

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing two 3d projects with the Snowman Season and In The Pines sets. These make great gifts or Christmas decor!

This first project was designed by my team member Beverly. She shared this project at our recent team gathering on zoom. Several participants made their own versions, with the products they had. It was super fun to see the different versions people made! The only thing I really changed on my version was the stamps that I used. Bev used the snowman from the Snow Wonder stamp set but since I did not have that set I used Snowman Season instead.

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing two 3d projects with the Snowman Season and In The Pines sets. These make great gifts or Christmas decor!

To get started all you’ll need is four pieces of Vellum cardstock that measure 3-3/4″ x 5″ and two pieces of Whisper White card stock that measure 5-½” x 8-½”. Then you’ll score them at 4″ and 8″ and die-cut an opening in each of the four panels. I’ve used the die you see here from the So Many Snowflakes set of dies. These dies can also be purchased as part of bundle if you want the coordinating stamp set too! You get a 10% discount in this case.

After all the scoring and die-cutting are done you’ll want to do your sponging next.

I’ve used three ink colors for my sponging here including Night of Navy, Seaside Spray, and Pool Party.

Next, I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed my images with white embossing powder. Check out my graphic below for a quick tip for how to get your images exactly where you want them in the opening.

You may be able to tell in the graphic below that I made my pencil marks on the backside of my Vellum pieces. After making your pencil marks you’ll turn the Vellum over so you’ll be heat embossing on the side that will be facing out of the opening.

TIP #1: By using the die-cut piece as a guide (instead of the opening itself) my pencil marks should not be visible in the opening when I turn it over.

TIP #2: I labeled each white panel with a number and put the corresponding number on the vellum panel since the placement of each die-cut opening (and the pencil marks) was not exactly the same.

After all the heat embossing is done you’ll simply attach your vellum card stock pieces behind each opening and attach your pieces with Tear & Tape in two places.

Here’s my snowman with the led light illuminated in behind plus some photos of the other sides as well just below.

For this first panel, I’ve colored my little snowman on the backside with Night of Navy, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede. The only color that really showed well was the Pumpkin Pie so I’m not sure I would bother to color if I did it again. On the front side, I colored the snowman’s body and head with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush.

For my second 3d project I’ve used the In The Pines bundle which includes a stamp set and dies.

This led light holder is quite a bit smaller than the first version and is constructed to be an open-top box instead of being open on the top and bottom, like for the previous one.

To create this led light holder, you’ll just need one piece of card stock cut and scored as you see in the graphic below. I used a piece of Shaded Spruce card stock for my body piece.

This box was sized so that the side panels would each be 2-½” wide so they’d be the perfect size for the tree die I used. I positioned each die-cut tree so that the trunk of each tree would be below the “snow” line. Check out my video ahead to learn my tips for creating this project.
