In today’s post, I’ll be sharing three ways for adding color to the Flowering Foils Paper. This is one of my current Club and Free Card Kit projects.
Adding color to the Flowering Foils paper is so easy to do and can be done in multiple ways. There are four project variations shared in this post with a couple of different color schemes. This project was designed to offer lots of room for club and free card kit participants to customize their cards.
Would you like to get FREE project kits in the mail? I’d love to send you some! Plus, first-time customers get all three kits no matter what your purchase size! You’ll find more details later in this post.
The Flowering Foils designer paper comes in four patterns and includes both copper and/or silver foil elements.
The foil elements on this first card are all silver and the color scheme is Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay.

The coloring on this designer paper panel was done all with sponge daubers. I especially love the coloring on this piece because I was able to blend the colors to create what I think is a really beautiful look.

Check out how the Gorgeous Grape and Pacific Point blend to make a new color. The Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay blend well together too. You may be able to see some of this blending in this close up.

The color scheme for this second card is Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape.
The embossed elements on this card are both copper and silver.

I used sponge daubers to color the flowers on this card too.

It was a lot of coloring but it’s really fast with the sponge daubers!

The color scheme for this next pair of cards is Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow, and Pear Pizzazz.
My intention with this color scheme was to offer an option that could have more of a masculine look, particularly with the crosshatch style patterned paper.

For this card, I’ve used the Sponge Brayer for the Night of Navy ink along the bottom. Then I used sponges to apply the Pear Pizzazz ink in the middle and the Mossy Meadow ink at the top. In my video tutorial at the end of this post, I showed how I added color to this paper to get the gradations of color.

I love these colors with the copper foil elements on this paper!

The floral paper on this next card has a combination of copper and silver foil elements. It was colored with sponge daubers which gives it a very soft look that I love.

I didn’t actually expect to like the Navy roses here but in fact, I think it works really well especially with the Mossy Meadow ink. This next photo shows off the foil elements really well. The roses were colored so that the navy was darker in the center and fades to a lighter shade, toward the edges of each flower. For the foliage, I needed to use just the edge of the sponge dauber to attempt to keep the color mostly inside the lines.

As you can see adding color to the Flowering Foils paper is very easy and can produce lots of different looks.
