Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop and April 2021 Color Challenge!
The color scheme for the April 2021 Color Challenge is the kind that makes me think of a flower garden. So, I pulled out a few stamp sets with flowers in them, plus a card layout that I love, and started playing. This card came together really fast and I love that!

For the stamped images on my April 2021 Color Challenge project, I’ve used the Lovely You Stamp Set. This is such a sweet set and I’m happy to say it will NOT be retiring when the current Stampin’ Up! catalog retires in May.

To get started you’ll need to die-cut the window element.
I used a die from my set of Stitched Nested Labels Dies to create the window. These dies are one of the five products I’m using today that will be retiring very soon. Plus, you can get them for a discount when you buy them now too!
You’ll start by folding a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock that measures 4″ x 10-½” in half. Then die-cut your window so that it’s about ⅝” down from the top of the fold.
Important Tip: When you place your die on the cardstock it will look closer to the top than ⅝” because the cutting element is about 1/8″ down from the outside edge of the die.
Once your window is made, make some small light pencil marks at the top, bottom, and sides as guides for where to mask and stamp in the next steps.

In the photo below, you may be able to see that I have pencil marks at the top, bottom, and tiny marks on the left and right points. My Post-It Note is placed a bit less than ¼” down from the pencil mark.
Now I’m all set to do my stamping!

Once all the stamping is done, I can simply remove the mask to create this fun inside element.

For this second card, I did a bit more stamping along the edges so that some of the foliage shows on the left and right when the card is closed. Plus, I’ve used a different designer paper pattern as well for this version.

To finish off my card, I’ve attached the card body to a 1/4 sheet of Seaside Spray cardstock, attached a piece of designer paper to the bottom of the white card body, tied a ribbon around the center of the card and added a few of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins. A mini glue dot was rolled up and placed behind the knot of the ribbon to hold it in place.

There are FIVE products on this card that are retiring!
The truth is that at this point in the Stampin’ Up! year I’m somewhat fixated on play with products that are retiring from the Annual Catalog. I figure I need to play with them quickly before they’re gone plus its sort of my way of saying goodbye.
I’ve already mentioned the Stitched Nested Labels Dies but the other items that are retiring include the Old Olive Ribbon (which is part of the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack) plus the three products in Seaside Spray, the cardstock (card base backing), ink pad, and the designer series paper. I absolutely LOVE this color and will miss it so much when it’s gone! Several of the products in this color are already gone. You can still get the items highlighted in blue above.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my April 2021 Color Challenge project!
You’ll find dimensions and a complete supply list at the end of this post. Thanks for spending some time with me today and Happy Crafting!

What a clever and beautiful card Melissa!!! Love it!
Cute card Melissa. I’m going to miss those Stitched Nested Labels dies.
I love the window technique and tips on blocking for the inside of the card for the window. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed this card and tips. Thanks for commenting!!
Great tips!! Love how you did the inside of the card!!!!
Thanks so much Patty!
So cute! Love the window and design behind it!
Do you have an actual PDF that can be downloaded and printed as it’s very difficult to print off the directions and supplies without printing everything on your page. Love your cards and I’m so excited about trying your ideas. Also I’m so grateful for your videos. Keep up the great work you are very talented lady.
Thanks so much for your sweet comment. I’m so glad you enjoy the projects I share on my blog. As for PDFs, I create a PDF that can be downloaded only for my Online Stamp Club members and it includes all three projects that were offered as part of the club for that month. Maybe you want to consider joining my online club? Let me know if you’re interested.
At the moment it’s just too much additional work to try to do a PDF for all the projects I create and share. I hope you understand. You might want to try copying and pasting the dimensions provided and then print the information that way. You can also copy and paste an individual photo and print it too. Just a little workaround for you. I hope it helps.
