The color scheme for the August 2026 Color Challenge includes three colors including; Pool Party, Secret Sea and Lemon Lime Twist.
Today’s project features the Fern & Flora Embossing Folder and the Poetic Petals Stamp Set.
I fell in love with the Fern & Flora Embossing Folder the moment I saw it and love how well this color combination worked with it.
To create the focal piece I applied Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist inks directly to the embossing folder and then ran a quarter sheet of white card stock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. Next, I used the direct to paper technique to cover the flat surfaces of the dry embossed piece with Secret Sea ink.
I could have stopped there but decided that I wanted to add a bit of shine to the fern & flora shapes. The embossing folder was cleaned, dried and then I added Versamark onto the raised images on the folder. I then ran the embossing folder through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine to transfer the Versamark ink to the colored cardstock. Then I heat embossed with clear embossing powder which brought the images to life.
From my finished quarter sheet of card stock I cut off a strip to use for the inside of the card. Then I cut it down to get the three panels for the front of the card. For the sentiment I used Secret Sea ink on Pool Party cardstock. This image comes from the Poetic Petals Stamp Set.
