Bees with Hexagons and Touches of Texture

Original Publish Date: 3/18/17

Today’s project features the Hexagons Embossing Folder and three stamp sets…

Touches of Texture, Thoughts & Prayers and Gorgeous Grunge, all by Stampin’ Up!. This card was one of the MiniClass/Club Cards in January AND is one of the three Card Kits I gave away for FREE with purchases in February.

While I love all three of the February Card Kits, I especially love this one! It uses one of my absolute favorite products in the Occasions Catalog, the Hexagons Embossing folder, plus, some of my favorite stamp sets in the Annual Catalog.

Today's project features a few of my absolute favorite products that are retiring including the Hexagons Embossing folder, and the Touches of Texture stamp set.

So, why do I love this card so much?

Well… one of the main reasons is it’s so natural looking. I love the way the Hexagons folder pairs with the little Bee image from the Touches of Texture stamp set. Plus the added gold foil embossed strip at the bottom adds the color and feel of honey… like the bees are making honey.

There’s one detail that I truly adore, that you really can’t see in the full photo above.

In the photos ahead you will see that there are little touches of gold embossing here and there, which give it an added special touch.

For the gold embossed flecks I stamped my favorite image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set here and about. I also rubbed the Versamark ink pad on a few of the corners and edges to get some additional gold elements.

These added gold embossed elements really finish off this card! Don’t you think?

While it’s hard to see here, I also used my Clear Wink of Stella brush on the wings of the bee and the Gold Wink of Stella brush on the body of the Bee.
