Card Making with Designer Paper

Card making with designer paper makes it super easy to create lots of cards fast! In this post you’ll see 7 simple cards using 2 layouts and 6 color schemes!

The first set of 5 projects features all the 2020-2022 InColors!

I’ve used two of the patterns from the 2020-2022 InColors for these 5 cards. These first three cards use the “woodgrain” pattern from the pack of 2020-2022 InColor designer paper pack. I think this pattern also looks a bit like ripples or water.

This first card is made with Just Jade cardstock, ink, and designer paper.

The Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set is a two-step stamping step.

The floral image you see here is heat embossed with white embossing powder. There is a second image stamped over the top to provide some dimension, depth, and contrast with the white flowers. The sentiment comes from the Hand-Drawn Blooms stamp set and is also heat embossed and attached with dimensionals.

These next two cards use a different pattern in the 2020-2022 designer paper pack. This pattern looks like ‘jeans” material to me. I think it’s enough of a subtle background to work for this design but it’s a bit busier than the first paper.

This card is made with Cinnamon Cider cardstock, ink, and designer paper.

To show the versatility of card making with designer paper, I just had to create some more designs!

I adapted the layout from the first design with just three small changes. I made the focal piece smaller, changed the orientation from landscape to a portrait style card, and moved the sentiment up to the top of the focal piece. These next two cards are made with the In Good Taste designer paper.

The designer paper used here has a very subtle texture making it super easy to work with. I chose to stamp in black ink as an alternative to the white heat embossing. However, the sentiment on this first card is heat embossed with silver to go with the black and gray color scheme and add a pop of shine.

The second image is stamped with Smoky Slate ink to add depth to the flowers.

The focal piece for this next card uses the backside of the paper used in the previous card. Obviously, there’s a lot more going on in the background with the stacked stone design.
