December 2025 Color Challenge

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop and December 2025 Color Challenge!

If you’ve already started the blog hop you should be coming from the talented Heather Thomas’s blog post. If you’ve just joined in, make sure to do the full hop and see all the wonderful projects created by the Color Fusers Design team! The color scheme for the December 2025 Color Challenge includes three of the latest new In Colors; Strawberry Slush, Secret Sea, and Cloud Cover.

Today’s project features the Simple Birthday and With You In Mind Stamp Sets.

I’ve created two cards to share with you today. When I set out to create, it was a bit of a struggle because, honestly, I don’t love these colors OR this color combination. This is the epitome of why this is called a Color CHALLENGE! This one was definitely a challenge for me!!! LOL!

To help find creative inspiration, I mixed the colors on watercolor paper and got this crazy, weird, background. I started with a large piece of watercolor paper and cut it down to get the focal piece on the first card and the frame for the second card. I even used scraps for the inside of the second card! I’ve shared the insides later in this post.

The focal piece was die cut using the Textured Notes dies. In the close-up below check out the detailed edge created by the die. It’s a subtle but pretty detail on this card.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder to make it stand out and provide a crisp clean contrast to the messy, watercolored background. Plus, I’ve used some of the 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls for some shimmer and shine.

Here’s a peek at how I decorated the inside of the card:

On the frame below, I stamped flowers using Strawberry Slush first and second ink and attached some white cardstock in behind. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on Secret Sea cardstock.

The watercolor cardstock piece I started with measured 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. I cut off a few strips from the bottom and used them to decorate the inside of this card. I kind of love this subtle inside element!
