Easy Card Making: 1 Simple Card Kit – 8 Creative Ways to Use It!

Using card kits can make for super easy card making!

Whether you buy a mass-produced kit or get a custom-made kit from me, kits are a great way to get to the fun of crafting faster! In today’s post, you’ll see 8 different card design variations that could be made with the club project kit shown below! Easy card making at its best!

Each kit includes materials to make two cards.

These cards are made with the Amazing Thanks Dies, and the awesome Pattern Party Designer Series Paper.

I’ve used all 8 dies that come in the Amazing Thanks set of dies for the card kits.

There are two pieces that layer to make each of the individual words. In the photo above the “thanks” pieces are shown separated. The “you are amazing” pieces are shown layered one on top of the other.

This designer paper includes 12 black and white patterns and on the second sides of these pieces, there are fun colored patterns, making this paper incredibly flexible and fun to play with!

I’ve only used 5 of the 12 unique sheets in the pack, giving me 5 black and white, AND 5 colored pieces to play with for my designs. Check out all the fun patterns in this pack of paper!

For my first design I’ve used three of the colored patterns with my “Thanks” die.

Check out some tips for assembling the “Thanks” element just ahead.

On the backside of the white piece here I’ve drawn on some multipurpose liquid glue and allowed it to dry a bit. I did the same thing along the bottom portion of my black piece.

Tip: Allow the glue to dry just a bit before handling your pieces. Here are three benefits you’ll want to know:

  1. It makes it much less likely that the glue will ooze out and make a mess if you used a bit too much anywhere on your pieces;
  2. The glue will be very tacky but will not stick to your fingers. No sticky fingers! I love that!;
  3. You can pick up your piece by touching your fingers on the adhesive itself making it much easier to place your piece where it needs to be.

Tip: Use rolled-up glue dots at the top of the black piece and flat glue dots on the white strip to give them the extra height they need to be at the same height as the black strip at the bottom.

Variation #2 – Simple black and white patterns with “you are amazing” die-cut sentiment pieces.

The sentiment pieces here are popped up with black Mini-Dimensionals. BTW, some of the Mini-Dimensionals needed to be cut in half to fit.

Variation #3 – Colored black and white patterns with “you are amazing” die-cut sentiment pieces.

Variation #6 – Colored black and white patterns with “you are amazing” die-cut sentiment pieces.

To recreate this design you’ll use Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce ink. For the coloring on this version, I first colored the left panel all in the Granny Apple Green and the right panel all in the Shaded Spruce. The middle panel was colored half in one color and half in the other color with the Granny Apple Green on the left and the Shaded Spruce on the right. I was going for an ombre type effect but then decided to mix things up a bit by adding touches of the Granny Apple Green onto some of the leaf shapes for fun. This seems like a perfect masculine card to me!

Variation #7 – Portrait orientation with three of the colored patterns and the “Thanks” die with no “underline”.

Variation #8 – Portrait orientation with colored black and white patterns and the “you are amazing” die-cut sentiment pieces.

The colors used here are Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo. For the coloring on this version, I created a bit of a monochromatic ombre effect with the darkest color on the bottom and the lightest color at the top. This version was inspired by the fact that today is Valentines Day. Who wouldn’t like to be told “your are amazing” on Valentines Day right?

Here’s the full set of Amazing Thanks dies and one of the first cards I made. I just LOVE these dies and want more like them so I’ll have additional words to play with!
