In today’s post, I’ll be showing a project with several new products including the Field Tiles Dies, Brass Foil sheets, Rainbow Glimmer paper, and more.
My card design today with the Field Tiles dies is actually a really simple design with many creative possibilities. After creating these first few designs I couldn’t help but make more variations in other color schemes. I even played around with some paper piecing which was so much fun. These are the simplest of the bunch I made. I’ll be sharing details about these first cards in this post and creating a “part 2” post to share the remaining variations.

This first design was made using a copper foil sheet in behind my Field Tiles dies piece.

On this variation, I used a single layer of mini glue dots to attach my die-cut piece to the copper foil. The black backing is attached to the card with Dimensionals.
Can you see the score lines on the four sides of the Soft Suede piece?

I scored at 1/8″ and 4-1/8″ on all four sides. The two score lines ended up being a tiny bit closer than 1/8″ apart by doing it this way. Here’s a close-up look:

On this next card, I’ve used one of the NEW Brass Foil sheets plus the NEW Tasteful Textile embossing folder for the background layer.
The embossed layer is So Saffron card stock.

These brass foil sheets are so pretty but they are really hard to capture on camera. They are almost as reflective as a mirror! I’m holding the card here so it’s reflecting something solid so you don’t see distracting images in the background. Can you see the lovely texture created by the Tasteful Textile embossing folder in this photo? It’s so subtle and pretty!

This next card is made with Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, and basic black cardstock. I’ve added a few additional details to this card.

A Wink of Stella Brush was used to color the background behind the die-cut piece to give it a bit of shimmer. I’ve also added a clear faceted gem colored with a black sharpie. The clear faceted gems are now retired. 🙁

Can you tell that the die-cut piece is not exactly flat on the surface of the Seaside Spray cardstock? I tried using Dimensionals but it seemed like too much to me. As a compromise, I used two layers of glue dots in strategic spots on the backside of the die-cut piece to give it a little lift.

Here’s the backside of one of my die-cut pieces:

My last and final card in this post features Just Jade (one of the new 2020 – 2022 In Colors), Mint Macaron and Basic Black.

On this version, I only used the Wink of Stella on the center portion of the background piece. I love this combination of greens!

So in this post, I’ve shared just 4 of the 8 or so projects I’ve created or started to create with the Field Tiles Dies. I showed two additional projects in my Facebook Live video and showed some parts and pieces for some additional cards yet to make.
Some of these additional designs include a technique called Paper Piecing. Plus, I’ve used Press n’ Seal to help me with some creative placement of my pieces also. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this set of projects coming very soon!

Project Dimensions:
- Card Body: 4-1/4″ x 11″
- Dry Embossed Layer: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Basic Black Layer: 3-7/16″ x 3-7/16″
- Backing Piece for Die-Cut: 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
- Black Strip: 1/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White Inside Piece: 4″ x 5-1/4″
In lieu of trying to use Dimensionals or glue dots on the square piece, I would stack 2-3 of them together for more height. Lovely cards!
Thanks for the suggestion!
