In today’s post I’ll be sharing a card that shows I am clearly obsessed with card making and proud of it too!
I had a vision for this card that simply started with the adorable Sweet Stocking designer series paper by Stampin’ Up!. One of the paper patterns includes stockings with cute animals peeking out the top. I envisioned them hanging from the mantel of a fireplace and I was off and running! It took me quite some time to make this card as it includes lots of small cut pieces of cardstock and fussy cutting of the adorable images in this designer paper. My unwavering motivation to make this vision come to life, was a clear indication, that I am hopelessly obsessed with card making!
Here’s my card:

To get started making my fireplace I went online and looked up “fireplace images” on google.
After just a short bit of searching I found an image that inspired the configuration for my fireplace. Figuring out the sizes and placement took some time. It was actually fun figuring this all out and building it! I know that this process might not be as enjoyable for others so to make it easy for others who might want to make this card, I’ve created a cutting guide for all the pieces and parts!

Here’s a close up of my card and these cute animal filled stockings.
They’re each raised up on dimensionals so they look like they are floating and hanging from the mantel. There are actually several other images, with different animals, in this paper. I used three others on the card made in my Facebook Live video you’ll find ahead.
The sentiment used here comes from the Tidings & Trimings Stamp Set. It’s the perfect size and words for this card, don’t you think?

For on top of the mantel, I fussy cut images from three additional designer paper patterns in the Sweet Stocking designer series paper pack. The string of ornaments are attached with mini dimensionals cut in half. This element was definitely the most challenging to cut and place. The fishbowl was super each to cut and it’s popped up on two layers of dimensionals.

For the final element on my mantel, I cut out this adorable bird carrying some Christmas mail. So cute right? This element was also attached with two layers of dimensionals.

Now during my video I created a second version of this card with a different piece of designer paper for the “wallpaper” plus, I used some of the other stockings in the dsp to “hang” on the mantel.

Here’s the version of my “obsessed with cardmaking” card that I made in my live video:

Here’s a close up of the stockings. These are each so cute but for some reason I’ve got a soft spot for the little mouse. I think it’s those big ears.

So what do you think? Are you motivated to make this card? If so, I’d say you’re obsessed with card making just like me! Leave a comment at the end of this post and tell me what you think!
