In today’s post learn how to make an easy DIY bookmark using the Stamparatus and the new 2021 – 2023 In Colors. Plus, see some unique bonus cards made with my bookmark-making scraps.
Every year Stampin’ Up! releases a new set of five colors that reflect some current color trends and each year I create an easy DIY bookmark with these colors to give to my stamp club members. The names of this years colors are:
- Evening Evergreen
- Soft Succulent
- Pale Papaya
- Polished Pink
- Fresh Freesia

To make the process faster and easier, I’ve used the Stamparatus for my stamping. I’ve created a guide on my grid sheet and moved my cardstock to do the stamping for each respective color. It was necessary to put my stamp at the bottom of my clear plate so I’d be able to stamp all my colors where I needed them to be.
Watch my video at the end of this post to see how I used the guide shown in the photo below.

It’s always fun to design these bookmarks with the new colors! Plus I always incorporate new stamps and punches too. For this year’s bookmark, I’ve used the Fancy Tag Topper Punch and the Elegantly Said Bundle. This bundle includes the Elegantly Said Stamp Set and Elegant Tag Punch. When you buy these as a bundle you save 10%!

Just in case you’d like to make some of these bookmarks yourself I’ve provided a PDF for you to use. Simply click on the button below to download and print this document. There are some basic cutting details at the bottom of this PDF for you. I hope you’ll enjoy making your own easy DIY bookmark!
Now, at the start of this post, I mentioned that you would also see some unique bonus cards made with my bookmark-making scraps.
To punch all the pieces I needed for my bookmarks I grabbed a scrap that measured 1-⅛” x 8-½” and I just started punching the end element, alternating the paper, back and forth so I’d maximize the use of my paper. What resulted were several pieces in each of the colors, with a fun punched pattern. In the photo below you can see these strips.

After making about 30 bookmarks I had four of these fun punched strips in each In Color so I just had to play and create some cards!
For all three cards I’ve used the Create with Friends Stamp Set for my sentiments.
This was the first card I made with my punched strips.

The strips were attached using multipurpose liquid glue and then the whole piece was dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder for some fun added texture. To see the whole process for creating this card watch my video tutorial at the end of this post!

For this next card, I added a layer of Evening Evergreen to frame my piece and mounted it on a Basic White card body.

This one was a bit simpler because my piece is not dry embossed.

Last but not least, for this final card the punched strips were attached on the diagonal for a slightly different look.

As you may be able to tell my piece is dry embossed on this version.

Here’s my set of three cards:

After making these cards, it occurred to me that I could create punched patterns with other punches too for some other fun creative possibilities. Fun right!?

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my easy DIY bookmark and bonus cards made with my leftover punched scraps. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment!
