I’ve been paper crafting for over 20 years so it’s a real treat to discover a new fun fold card layout!
Just when you thought you’d seen everything yet another new idea appears. This is one of the things that has kept me excited about card-making for so many years! Plus, if you know me, you know I am always on the lookout for new inky techniques as well! That said, the subject of today’s post is a new fun card layout that’s super easy to make!
The inspiration for my projects comes from a sweet card received from one of my team members, Aimee Johnson. Check out more of the cute projects Aimee creates on her Facebook Page! Aimees’ card is shown below on the right with the first of my two versions of this new fun fold card layout.
For my card, I’ve used three different paper patterns from the A Walk in the Forest designer paper pack.
Stampin’ Up! will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales of this designer paper to charity!
This designer paper is available to purchase now but it is retiring soon!
I’ve also used the Beary Cute Stamp Set for the sentiment on this card. The Beary Cute bundle coordinates with this designer paper and the products in this bundle are also retiring in early January 2024!
The Beary Cute bundle includes a stamp set and punch. The polar bear in the middle panel of designer paper here can be punched out with the polar bear punch!
So let’s get to the fun folding feature of this card layout!
This card has two panels that open so there’s essentially two insides. The first, bottom panel is open in the photo below.
Here’s a photo of the second panel opened to reveal the inside.
Here’s a top view of this card:
I really hate that the Beary Cute Bundle is retiring! Here’s a peek at the stamp set without the punch.
My second card has a completely different look but I’ve used patterns from the same designer paper pack!
I love the pops of cherry cobbler in among the pretty greens and blues on the designer paper!
For this card I’ve used the Handcrafted Elements dies to add a present to the bottom panel. This set of dies has several pieces that layer one on top of each other like the present and flower at the top here.
While I love the paper, it’s also a bit dark. As a result, I wanted to bring some shiny elements into the design to lighten it up and provide pops of interest. I’m really happy with the bits of gold and shiny red “berries”.
Here are a couple photos of the insides and a top view photo as well:
Here’s the second inside of this card.
The Handcrafted Elements Dies are shown below.
These dies are also retiring soon! Plus, they are being sold at a discount! Keep in mind, anything that’s retiring is ONLY AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST! So… don’t delay! Buy the retiring items you want ASAP!
