Make These Fast Christmas Cards in a Snap!

In today’s post, I’ll be sharing a bunch of fast Christmas Cards that are super easy to make!

The truth is, I started with a slightly more complex idea which produced the ugly piece you see in the SECOND photo below. The first of my fast Christmas Cards is shown here but it’s NOT where I started. Sometimes just have to try a few things before you get to a result you like!

I think this next piece is super UGLY! What do you think?

It was created using Starry Sky cardstock but you can barely see this gorgeous color. There’s just way too much gold! I started playing with some other ideas that would show off more of the Starry Sky. Firstly, I eliminated the gold altogether and ended up making a bunch of simple and fast Christmas Cards which you will see in this post.

For this first card, I simply rubbed white craft ink over the raised dry embossed elements.

While it was still wet, I heat-embossed using clear embossing powder. I LOVE how this turned out! Some clear embossing powder did end up in some of the recessed portions which simply added some texture and darker shades of Starry Sky in the background.

Isn’t this Christmas Tidings embossing folder so fun? I love all the cute elements and words. Plus, can you see the added shimmer in select spots? A clear Wink of Stella Brush was used to add some shimmer to some of the dry-embossed shapes.

For these same elements, I used a Starry Sky Blends Alcohol marker to help them stand out even more.

Here’s a close-up so you can see a bit better.

I’ve added a small dry embossed strip to the inside too! I used a Blending Brush to add color to this strip of dry embossed white cardstock.

Here are the two embossing folders used to make this card:

If you watched my Facebook Live video you know I couldn’t stop at just one version of this card!

I proceeded to play with the ideas and ended up with EIGHT VARIATIONS using different methods and colors. These were so quick to make too! This next version uses the same technique as the first card but there is no heat embossing.

The same direct-to-paper method was used to create this Real Red and Sweet Sorbet version.

Here’s the pair of them side by side:

For this next version, I switched it up just a bit!

Here I used white cardstock for the focal piece and used the Starry Sky ink with the direct-to-paper technique. Easy peasy!

These next two cards use a slightly messier method but it’s still super easy.

On this one, the ink is applied to the embossing folder! Watch my video tutorial below to watch how I did this.

Here’s another version using the reds with the same method.

Last but not least, I just had to make some green versions of this card.

All the details are the same except I eliminated the dry embossed white layer and added in a bit of ribbon. I love these fast Christmas cards too!

For these cards, I used the same methods as for the cards above.
