My Nature’s Harvest Sunrise card features a simple Watercolor Wash with a heat embossed image.
The best way to learn how to make this card, and create the lovely watercolor wash, is to watch my video tutorial at the end of this post. That said, I will share a few details here as well.

For my card, I’ve used images from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set.
I started by heat embossing my flower with white embossing powder on watercolor paper. Next, I used Petal Pink and Calypso Coral ink refills, with a Water Painter, to add the watercolor wash over the top. These colors made me think of a beautiful sunrise scene.
Note: When applying my Calypso Coral ink I applied some extra color around the flowers themselves to essentially highlight the floral shapes. I really love how the flowers stand out because of the added contrast.

TIP: It’s a good idea to create the focal piece first because after it’s created, it will need some time to dry.
While the focal piece is drying you can work on some of the other elements on the card, or use a heat tool on the low setting to speed up the drying time.
While mine was drying I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder and worked on my sentiment piece. The dry embossed piece gets attached so it’s justified all the way to the top and centered left to right on the front of the card body.

The sentiment is stamped using Pear Pizzazz Ink on a small strip of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
I love this little splash of green under the focal piece. It sort of creates the illusion of ground or grass below the flowers.

When the focal piece was completely dry, water was sprinkled over the top and dabbed up with a paper towel. This adds so much to the watercolor wash!
It adds some texture and interest and what I think is a magical feel to the focal piece. Here’s a close-up so you can appreciate this added detail.

So after all the pieces are created, all you have to do is attach the focal piece, wrap a piece of linen thread around the body of the card four times, tie a bow and attach the sentiment piece with Dimensionals.
Tip: I recommend tieing a knot and then tie your bow. This helps to make sure the linen thread stays tight around the card and is simply easier.

I just love this card and it’s easy and quick to make too!
Also, keep in mind, you can use lots of different images in place of the Nature’s Harvest flowers I used here. Plus, changing up the color scheme to create some different looks is another great option to consider.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my Narture’s Harvest Sunrise Card with this watercolor wash and that you’re inspired to create!
