October 2023 Color Challenge & Blog Hop

Color Challenge & Blog Hop

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop and October 2023 Color Challenge!

If you’ve already started the blog hop you should be coming from the talented Stacey Marsh’s blog post. If you’ve just joined in, make sure to do the full hop and see all the wonderful projects created by the Color Fusers Design team! The color scheme for the October 2023 Color Challenge includes a wonderful Autumn color scheme and includes, one of the 2023 – 2025 InColors called Wild Wheat, a new color called Pecan Pie, and Cajun Craze, a color that’s been around for quite a while.

Today’s project features the Warmest Heart Bundle. The thermos images in this bundle make me think of lunch boxes and a back-to-school theme. It seemed fitting to use with Autumn colors.

The popped-up thermos is heat embossed and colored in with Blends Alcohol markers. The other thermoses were stamped using two images, one for the outline and another to provide the color.

While the thermoses are cute, my favorite images in this set are the little images intended as decoration on the thermos image.

On this card, I’ve stamped and die-cut the tiny mountain scene to decorate the focal element. I used Blends Alcohol Markers to color it in. I’ve also added Clear Wink of Stella to the sky and moon for a bit of shimmer. You should be able to see the shimmer in the next photo.

I also especially love the sentiment used here. The font is playful and bold, and I just love the message.

There are lots of additional little details on this card too!

I’ve dry-embossed the Pecan Pie panel using the new Geometric Shapes embossing folder. Plus, can you see the touch of Oxidized Specialty Paper at the bottom of the popped-up thermos? I added this piece for a little shimmer and added dimension. I wanted it to look a bit like the thermos was sitting on a table.

Last but not least, I love the colored strip across the bottom. This piece was actually a scrap trimmed off the bottom of the stamped background piece.

Here’s a peek at the inside of my card. The piece along the bottom was a scrap of watercolor paper, from another project, that I’d colored with Cajun Craze ink. It was a perfect addition to the inside of this card.

Check out all the sweet little images that can be used to decorate the thermos or used on their own. There are coordinating dies for each of these cute images. Stay tuned to see more projects made with these adorable little images!
