In today’s post, I’ll be showing another set of Field Tiles Dies Card Ideas with the Paper Piecing Press n Seal technique.
In my recent Facebook Live video, I shared several cards made with the Field Tiles Dies. I created so many variations that I decided it warranted splitting up my photographs into two blog posts instead of just one. So, this is part 2 of my previous post. The cards in today’s post include the cards made during my Facebook Live, plus several designs made with the Paper Piecing Press n Seal technique. I recently saw Kylie Bertucci, a fellow demonstrator, use this technique with the Many Layered Blossoms Dies. I just love what she created so I had to play with this technique with my Field Tiles Dies! Here’s the complete set of dies:

There are really two categories of projects I made with the Field Tiles Dies.
The first set of cards are made using the positive space piece when die-cutting my favorite die in the set. The second set of cards are made with the negative space pieces and parts that are leftover.
The card you see here was completed during last week’s Facebook Live and it uses the positive space die-cut piece cut with Magenta Madness card stock. This is a super simple design!

Check out this same card layout with the NEW Rainbow Glimmer paper! This next card was also shown in my Facebook Live video.

This gorgeous Rainbow Glimmer paper has every color of the rainbow in it. You’re seeing just a small portion of this paper here.
Tip: I’ve used glue dots with a tiny spot of multipurpose liquid glue on top to attach my die-cut piece to the glimmer paper. The glue dots help raise the piece up just a bit, and the multipurpose glue serves to attach the two pieces together.

This next card was made in much the same way as the previous two cards.
I actually shared this card in my previous “Part 1” post but I wanted to share it here as a point of reference for some of the additional cards in this post.
So far you’ve seen three cards that each use positive space die-cut pieces, one each in Magenta Madness, Basic Black, and Misty Moonlight. From each of these die-cut pieces, I was left with the negative space pieces and so I just had to play with the Paper Piecing with Press n Seal technique.

Here’s my first Paper Piecing with Press n Seal technique card.
I’ve combined select pieces from the Basic Black and Misty Moonlight leftover pieces to create the focal pieces on these next two cards. I did not use the positive, outline die cut piece for either of these, just the negative space pieces.

Here are some of the pieces and parts used on my cards.
The large solid outline pieces are what I’m calling the “positive space” pieces. The small pieces attached to the press n seal are shown on the bottom of this photo. You may also notice that there are two thin square frame pieces. In case you’re wondering, these were also left over scraps after die-cutting these shapes. My starting piece of card stock measured 3″ x 3″ and what I was left with were these delicate frame pieces. I’ve incorporated these pieces into some of my later designs as you’ll see ahead.

Now two more pieces were die-cut in the same manner as in the above photo with one in Rich Razzleberry and another in Blackberry Bliss. Then there was quite a bit more playing to create the next five card designs with the paper piecing press n seal technique.

The building of these focal pieces is like putting together a puzzle but you get to decide on where the puzzle pieces go!
Color Combination: Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black and White.

Die-cut your pieces in whatever colors you like. Then use your negative space pieces wherever you want them to be in the positive space die-cut “frame”.
Here are the basic step:
- Attach your positive space die-cut “frame” onto a cardstock base.
- Put a bit of adhesive on the backside of each of the “puzzle pieces” you want to attach.
- Superimposed all the pieces over the openings in the positive space die-cut “frame” but press down to adhere only the pieces with adhesive on them. This can be a little tricky especially with small pieces but it’s definitely doable.

Most of my “puzzle pieces” are attached with multipurpose liquid glue but as you can see here the center 5 pieces are raised up on Dimensionals. I’ve also added a bit of Wink of Stella to this central element for some added shimmer.
Color Combination: Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, and White.

This focal piece was made with only negative space pieces.

There are two additional elements on this focal piece. I’ve used Wink of Stella on the central element and added an Elegant Faceted Gem to the center. The finish on these lovely gems looks a lot like Wink of Stella. These gems are just beautiful!

The Elegant Faceted Gems come in three colors and two sizes. The row of gems on the left are actually clear.

Here’s my full set of cards in the pinks/purples. I’m sure you can tell that I’ve had a lot of fun with this!

I sure hope you’ve enjoyed seeing these cards. If you haven’t already you may want to check out Part 1 of this post from late last week. In that post, there are designs with copper and brass foil sheets too!
You’ll find project dimensions, a complete supply list with links to my online store, and my video tutorial at the end of this post.
