Projects with the Art Gallery Bundle

These projects with the Art Gallery Bundle are my first creations with these products and I’m in love!

There’s nothing like playing with products to help them come to life. I liked this bundle before I started playing, and now I simply love it! These 3 projects with the Art Gallery Bundle were inspired by my team member, Kathi Cox, who created a super fun Christmas card with a die-cut opening in the front. I immediately saw the potential for creating using this layout! Thank you Kathi!

Her card is made with the Coming Home Stamp Set and Home Together Dies which are retiring as of 1/4/21. The dies in this bundle are on sale for 30% off! Here are some photos of Kathi’s card:

So, the three things I knew before I started my card designs were:

  1. My die-cut opening in the front of the card would be one of the floral shapes in the Art Gallery Bundle.
  2. I wanted to incorporate some of the subtle patterns of the Fine Art Floral Designer Paper.
  3. The Gilded Foiling and/or the ribbon from the Fine Art Floral suite would be included in the design.

Since I knew I wanted to use the Fine Art Floral designer paper the first thing I needed to pick was my color combination for my stamping.

So, I started with simply playing with color combinations and came up with what you see in the graphic ahead. Then I die-cut them all!

So… I had a bunch of pieces to play with which made designing my cards pretty easy! Next, all I had to do was play around with a layout to incorporate these die-cut shapes!

This first version of my card is actually the simplest of the three.

I knew I wanted to justify the flower in the lower right hand corner so I’d have a place to write on the inside of the card. Then I just needed to figure out how wide to make my designer paper piece. It’s a little hard to see here but I’ve also dry embossed my top layer of white cardstock with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. I do love texture!

In addition to using the Art Gallery Bundle, I’ve also used some of the other amazing products from the Fine Art Floral Suite including the designer paper and Gilded Leafing. I’ve stamped the flower in Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade plus you’ll see the Gilded Leafing in the center. I love how shiny and special it looks.

Plus, since my flower is die-cut, I get to enjoy seeing it on the inside of the card too!

This second card was made during my Facebook Live event on 12/17/20.

The flower is stamped with Bumblebee and Pumpkin Pie ink and, of course, I’ve used the Gilded Leafing in the center.

For this version, instead of using a gold foil strip on the edge of the designer paper, I’ve used some Tear & Tape with my Gilded Leafing. Now the Tear & Tape is ¼” wide but as you may be able to tell here, the Gilded Leafing strip is only about ⅛” wide.

Watch my video at the end of this post to see how I got this custom width strip of the Gilded Foiling.

I decided to dress up the inside of this version just a bit with some added layers. I was wishing I had done that on my first card too.

My last and final card is definitely the most complicated of them all and yet since I had a bunch of die-cut pieces to play it was so much easier.

Each of the flowers you see here were created by stamping the stems separately, die-cutting them and then stamping the flowers and die-cutting those. I simply cut off what would be the foliage from the floral images and placed them on top of either Mossy Meadow or Old Olive die-cut foliage piece.

Here I have laid out my pieces as I plan for their placement. I put a pencil mark on that bottom stem and then just trimmed off the excess before attaching it to the front of the card. Keep in mind you will NOT want to overlap the middle flower with the one on the right otherwise your card will be “locked” shut.

The image that will sit in the die-cut opening has a bunch of dimensionals on it to make sure it will stay in place and not get pulled off when opening this card. It does fit snuggly in the opening.

The Gilded Foiling was used in the same two places as on the last card. It’s so much shinier than gold foil sheets or gold heat embossing.
