Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop and September 2020 Color Challenge!
The projects I’ve made for the September 2020 Color Challenge are made with the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set. With pink in the mix, this is not exactly your traditional color scheme for snowflakes and yet I love how these turned out! This color scheme was actually a bit of a challenge for me but honestly, when that happens it just makes me get more creative which is actually very fun!

I had so much fun making these cards and the truth is you’re only going to see a small fraction of what I played with, in today’s post.
So, when I started out playing to create these cards I did what I often do which is to play with making a bunch of different focal pieces before settling on some to use. Now, truth be told, I haven’t had a lot of time to just create and play lately and I’d decided that the whole day was going to be a play day.
You know it’s been a great creative day when your daughter tells you, you have ink on your neck, arm, and leg!!!
So this first card is made with the simplest focal piece created during my play session.

I’ve stamped all the larger images in full ink and the smaller images are stamped off. The pink snowflakes in particular are stamped off in Melon Mambo ink. Full inking was just a bit too bold for the look I was going for. The itty bitty snowflakes are stamped off with Night of Navy ink.

A few more details:
- I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on Night of Navy card stock and then fussy cut with my paper snips.
- The Whisper White background piece is dry embossed with the Subtle 3-D embossing folder.
- Both the focal piece and the frame are popped up on Dimensionals.

Check out the blue gems on my snowflakes. Arn’t they pretty? These have been one of the most popular products in the August to December mini-catalog!

This next card was where the big inky fun began!
For the background, I started with four sizes of acrylic blocks, my three colors of ink, my spritzer bottle, and some paper towels. Check out the finished background piece in the photo below. More on that later!
I then set up my Stamparatus with all but one of the snowflake images from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set. I wanted a super quick and easy way to stamp all these snowflakes at once. Plus, I wanted to be able to stamp multiple focal pieces. Here’s how I did it:

I’ve used all but the smallest size snowflake stamps on my stamparatus here.

For this focal piece, I’ve used watercolor paper. This type of paper doesn’t have a very smooth surface so by setting up my images on the Stampartus I knew I could stamp them a second time with Versamark to make sure I got good solid images. These snowflakes are heat embossed with white embossing powder.

IMPORTANT TIP:
The other reason to use the Stamparatus on a project like this is that when you stamp with Versamark the images are clear so it becomes difficult to see where you’ve stamped each image if you stamp them one at a time.

My sentiment is also heat embossed in white and attached to a Vellum card stock backing.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my two cards made for the September 2020 Color Challenge and Blog Hop!
