Simple Christmas Projects

In today’s post, I’ll be showing four simple Christmas projects including a card made with a fun trick on the Stamparatus, plus three simple 3-D items that could be neighbor gifts or little treats to give to friends during the holidays.

The first of my four simple Christmas projects use this adorable mini shipping box with the Stampin’ Up! logo on the side, the Night Before Christmas designer series paper and a sentiment from the Snowman Seasons stamp set. The designer paper and stamp set are both retiring very soon!

I made a bunch of these to give as a little party gift at my annual holiday party last week. I filled them with a bag of homemade and super yummy Chex mix.

They were quick and easy to put together and quite frankly, I fell in love with this designer paper while I was creating these simple Christmas projects! The box decorated and is held shut with a belly band that slips on and off. What you see here is the top portion of all my belly bands.

In today's post, I’ll be showing four simple Christmas projects including a card made with a fun trick on the Stamparatus, plus three simple 3-D items.

To create the belly band you’ll just score the long piece at 3/4″ and 3-1//2″ from both ends and then you’ll attach the short piece to the 3/4″ flaps. In my video later in this post, I’ve shared a few tips on the best way to assemble the belly band so it’s not too tight or loose.

Here are two of my finished boxes:

I didn’t have quite enough of these mini shipping boxes for all the Chex mix I made so I also created a few of these decorated Cafe Bags. These were even easier than the shipping boxes to make!

The Cafe Bags are unfortunately retired, but they just show how easy it is to use designer paper to decorate any little bag or box you have around. I’ll be decorating more of these Cafe bags using this wonderful Christmas paper. I love how the long front really shows off the paper.

For this year’s holiday party I made another little treat for participants that I put into the Clear Tiny Treat boxes.

The treat box is hidden and wrapped up as you see here. While there are few more details on this project they were still simple and pretty quick to put together!

In today's post, I’ll be showing four simple Christmas projects including a card made with a fun trick on the Stamparatus, plus three simple 3-D items.

As you can see here, the wrapper is made with a strip of cardstock that is scored in six placed and then I punched the ends using the Delightful Tag Topper punch. The Clear Tiny Treat Box is simply attached to the bottom of the wrapper. I could have attached it on the sides as well but I figured it would be easier to take out if it was only attached to the bottom.

For this project, I’ve used the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set for the sentiment, Let It Snow designer series paper, and the To Every Season Bundle for the snowflakes. This designer paper and the To Every Season Bundle are both retiring as of 01/02/20.

So, in case your wondering, I made homemade Peppermint Patties to put inside these little treat boxes. I made these a few years back for Christmas and several people I know, who don’t even like peppermint patties, liked these homemade ones. I personally love peppermint patties!

Here are a few more variations on the design. I just love this Let It Snow designer series paper and aren’t those little snowflakes just adorable?!

The last of my four simple Christmas projects is this wreath card.

This card was the one Make n’ Take at my holiday party. We have lots of fun at my annual holiday party but most of it is not stamping. We do a gift exchange, make music together with homemade chimes, play games, socialize and do just a little bit of stamping.

This card is made using a simple trick with the Stamparatus. You can make a wreath of any size using this trick plus you can use lots of different images too!

This wreath is stamped using the Beauty and Joy Stamp Set from the holiday catalog. This set is retiring when the Holiday Catalog retires in early January.

A Few Project Details:

  • The wreath itself is stamped using the Stamparatus with Shaded Spruce ink and then I stamped the berries image all over using Real Red Ink.
  • I then added the red rhinestones all over, leaving a space at the bottom for my real red bow. The bow was attached using a glue dot.
  • The real red focal backing is attached to the card body using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The project dimensions are included at the end of this post.

It’s the last project I demonstrated in case you want to skip ahead.
