Todays simple handmade card & box are so easy to make! The card was made as my contribution to the February 2022 Simple Suite Stamper’s Tutorial Bundle.
This tutorial bundle includes a set of twelve projects designed by the Simple Suite Stampers Design Team. My simple handmade card is a bit of a sneak peek into the February 2022 Tutorial Bundle. The theme for February is the Sweet Talk Suite of products. I’ve also used the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle and Pretty Pillowbox Dies.

To get started with my designer I identified two coordinating patterns of the Sweet Talk Designer Paper, one for behind the rainbow and the other for the paper to frame my focal element.

Next, I die-cut my rainbow piece and clouds. As you can see here I’m using the negative space of my white die-cut piece and the designer paper in behind to add color to my rainbow in the openings.

When I did my die-cutting, the rainbow pieces stayed in place so I decided to take advantage of that little detail with the goal of using these shapes later.
Here are my parts and pieces before I assembled my focal piece.

In this close-up, you may be able to see that I die-cut my rainbow so that it was centered side to side but it’s not quite centered top to bottom. I wanted to leave a little extra room on the bottom for my clouds and sentiment piece.

Next, I turned my die-cut piece over and drew lines of multipurpose liquid glue on both the negative and positive spaces. If you allow the glue to dry for even 15 minutes there are multiple benefits when you assemble your piece.
I LOVE this trick and use it all the time!

Now to start your assembly you’ll need to remove the white die-cut rainbow pieces.
Since I wanted to actually use the white rainbow shaped pieces, I went into my stash of “card salad” baggies and found a fun background that I thought would go well with the rainbow theme. Below is a photo of what I used.
Watch my video at the end of this post to see how I placed these four pieces while maintaining their exact position relative to one another.

Now I can begin assembling my focal element starting with stamping my little hearts (or raindrops), attaching the striped designer paper behind, and attaching it to its Highland Heather cardstock backing. The Highland Heather piece is attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
My sentiment piece is heat embossed with white embossing powder and my clouds are die-cut using Blushing Bride cardstock.

Attach all the pieces together and this card is all done! Easy peasy!

Now I also made an adorable little pillow box to coordinated with my simple handmade card.
For this, I used the Pretty Pillowbox Dies which I love! These little boxes were so easy to make!

Even though I made 35 of these adorable pillow boxes back in December for my team, I still made a small boo boo when demonstrating how to assemble it.
Here’s how to fix that little mistake!
You only need to put multipurpose liquid glue on the two oval shaped sections near the top flap of the box. On mine I put glue on all four instead! As mentioned above, I like to put my glue on and allow it to dry a bit so I had done that with the die-cut piece below. Now I could have just tapped the surface with my embossing buddy to remove the stickiness but I wanted to remove the glue, all together, if possible.

So, I grabbed my handy Adhesive Remover (the rubber square you see below) and rubbed the glue to get it off. It took a while but I was able to remove all of it without a problem.

Here’s a close up of the section that previously was covered with the dry glue. Pretty cool huh?!

Here are the two adorable pillow boxes I made to coordinate with today’s simple handmade card.
The one at the top is made with the Sweet Talk Designer Paper and the one at the bottom is made with the Sunshine & Rainbows Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper. This paper is FREE with an order of $50 or more in merchandise during Sale-A-Bration which ends on 2/28/22! It coordinated beautifully with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle. Check out the tiny little rainbows on the designer paper here! So Cute!!!

The two cards shown below are virtually identical with the exception of one detail.
On my original card I stamped hearts to flank the rainbow but on the second card I stamp raindrops. Both images are included in the Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set.

If you like the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle make sure to watch my video ahead.
In the video I showed a couple of additional cards made with the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set. The cards shown were EXCLUSIVE to the Winter 2022 Maker’s Mojo Event in January, and are not available to see anywhere else!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects!
