In today’s post, I’ll be sharing an Unusual Pop Up Gift Card Holder made with the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set.
I just love cards and gifts that open in an interesting way and so when I first saw this unusual Pop Up Gift Card Holder layout I immediately knew I’d need to recreate my own. I chose to use the Snowflake Splendor product suite and have included some of the gorgeous designer paper, Balmy Blue Glitter paper, images from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and some of the gorgeous Blue Adhesive Backed Gems.
Since this is a Club and Free Card Kit project it was designed so it would be super easy to recreate with stamps and inks my customers would likely have on hand. If you receive free card kits from me your kit will include the precut, scored, and punched cardstock to make this card plus the embellishments.

The center panel on this card is a piece of the Snowflake Splendor designer paper and the images to the left and right are stamped with images from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set. The color scheme is Balmy Blue and Pool Party.

To open this card you simply pull up on the top flap which then lifts up the inside pocket containing an insert to write on. If you choose to use this as a gift card holder you’d simply put the gift card in the same pocket with this insert.

Make sure to check out the graphics below for some important tips on how to make sure the pop up mechanism works smoothly!

Here’s a side view after the inside pocket mechanism has been attached:

This pop up gift card holder has two pockets,
- A small hidden pocket on the inside to hold the gift card and insert piece,
- The large outside pocket that is the bottom front panel of the card.
Tip: I apply lines of multipurpose liquid glue and then allow them to dry a bit before I close up the pockets. By doing this the glue is sticky but not still liquidy. That way, the glue stays exactly where you’ve put it and does not oooze out creating a mess and/or closing in the pocket space.

Here’s my pair of pop up gift card holders made with two different patterns of the Snowflake Splendor designer paper.
I’ve also placed my blue adhesive backed gems differently on each to show a few alternative options.

I don’t know about you but I love to remake card layouts with different products!
This next card was shared as part of one of my Team Creative Play events. For this version I’ve used the In The Pines Stamp Set, Tis The Season designer series paper, and Red Velvet specialty paper. You’ll find a complete supply list at the end of this post.

The card base and internal mechanism dimensions are the same as for card the previous version. Additional project dimensions are included at the end of this post.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing, and learning how to make, my Unusual Pop Up Gift Card Holder.
