Easy Warmest Heart Christmas Card Idea & more!

In today’s post, you’ll see a non-traditional Christmas card idea that is easy to make and adapt for other purposes.

I was inspired to create this Christmas card idea by my crafty friends in Australia, where Christmas is in the summer instead of the winter. Here in the U.S. so many of our Christmas-themed stamps and papers are tailored to a winter theme which leaves our Australian friends, (and others), with fewer options for their Christmas projects. The truth is, I hate for people to ever feel left out which is why I was inspired to create the first card in this post. I’ve used the adorable Warmest Heart Bundle for all three of my projects today.

For this first card, I went with a Red and Green color scheme to help conjure the feeling of Christmas.

The colors used here are not exactly traditional Christmas colors, but I really wanted to go with some bright greens so it would have more of a summer feel to it.

The middle image was colored in greens and reds, so it might look a bit like a poinsettia.

There are a number of adorable images in the Warmest Heart Stamp Set but I went with the sunshine because it makes the card look summery.

I just adore this third image with the mountain scene. It’s a neutral image that’s not associated with any season in particular, at least to me! However, I did my coloring to look warm and summery.

All that said, in the end, what really makes this a Christmas or holiday-themed card is the sentiment.

You could easily change the sentiment and really use this card for any purpose!

This is such a cute and simple layout that I couldn’t help but make some variations on the theme!

I simply changed by color scheme, and a few other details, and voila, here is another adorable card!

The color scheme here is Mossy Meadow, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, and Wild Wheat.

On this card, I swapped out the sunshine for the little rainbow image and added some dry embossing in the background. Simple, quick, and cute right!?

For my final card variation, I’ve changed the color scheme again and made some small tweaks to the design.

I’ve used the Geometric Shapes embossing folder here, plus the Garden Walk designer series paper. I’ve also used a bit of Clear Wink of Stella on some of the colored images. I do love a bit of shimmer and shine!
